Virgin Islands Own Victor Lebron
Victor Lebron was born on July 21 1984 in St. Croix of the U.S. Virgin Islands. While growing up Victor Lebron rode pleasure horses on his father's farm. Lebron began galloping horses at age 14. He rode one race in St. Croix before moving to the U.S. in 2005. Lebron having grown up around horses and horse racing, contributed to him going straight into race riding instead of spending time working on the backend until he was able to ride.
In 2005 he won nine races in his first year racing for a total of $102,178 in earnings. Since moving to the United States Lebron has ridden mostly in Kentucky and Indiana. Lebron attained his first riding title at the 2007 Indiana Downs meet and his second at Turfway Park. Lebron won his first two stakes, the Shelby County and the William Henry Harrison, at Indiana downs in 2007. July of 2008 he had amassed almost $6.3 million in purse earnings from more than 500 wins.
Victor Lebron is currently recouperating from surgery to repair two fractured bones and tissue damage. We look forward to seeing more of this inspirational Crucian native.
